I was working for CNN when Chicago hosted the Democratic National Convention, and got to hang around the press area. Kevin Costner came through with his posse of bodyguards and passed by me and all I could think to say was “I loved you in Waterworld” (I couldn’t think of any of his other movies at the time). He was gracious enough to say thanks and ask my name, to which I think I actually snorted and said “why? you’ll never remember it anyway.”
